Fragrant desire: deseo Jennifer Lopez from Coty Prestige |
INTERNATIONAL. Coty Prestige has unveiled a new feminine fragrance from Jennifer Lopez, called deseo. It is being launched this month into Europe; the Americas market will follow in February.
“Deseo means desire”¦wish”¦dream”¦things that you want,” explained the superstar. “It just seemed perfect for this time in my life and what I am communicating to people. Which is to inspire them, and to dream, and to want more, and to never stop reaching for the things they want to accomplish in their lives – that’s really the sentiment behind it.”
The juice, created by Givaudan’s Ellen Molner and Jim Krivda, is a floral woody, reportedly inspired by the smell and feel of the air during a midnight walk in Lopez’s flower garden minutes before a thunderstorm.
The top notes feature bamboo leaves, garden yuzu, bergamot and freesia, building to a heart of star jasmine, pink geranium flower, orange blossom and mimosa. The base includes amber, oak moss, musk, sandalwood, cedar wood, patchouli and a mineral accord.
The bottle is designed to evoke a “diamond in the rough”. It resembles a gemstone cut with multiple facets, according to Coty, coloured with nature-inspired hues of yellow-gold and blue.
The outer carton is wrapped in organic textured linen, coloured a matching shimmering yellow-gold, accented with a bright blue logo and gold foil. The carton interior is decorated with a floral pattern.
The deseo Jennifer Lopez collection comprises 30ml, 50ml and 100ml edp sprays, plus a 200ml Desirable Body Lotion.
The advertising visual was shot in Islamorada, Florida, by Peter Lindbergh. It depicts a tousled Lopez reclining in a hammock among lush surroundings. The image is said to “capture a woman at her most vulnerable”¦in an all-consuming state of desire”. The strap-line is: “let desire lead you”.
A lighter, sister fragrance – called deseo forever – will be rolled out to Asia in April.
