Crossfor takes aim at travel retail – 13/06/05

Crossfor has a travel retail presence in Japan at the Japan Air Lines (JAL) duty free shop at Tokyo Narita Airport, where the company claims it dramatically increased profitability per 60cm square of case space with its collection

JAPAN. Crossfor Co Ltd, a leading specialist in sterling silver cubic zirconia jewellery in Japan, showed its products for the first time at the TFWA Asia Pacific show in Singapore last month.

The company’s main products are sterling silver set with the Crossfor cut cubic zirconia and Crossfor fancy-cut loose diamonds.

Unlike usual sterling silver jewellery, the company says it goes one step further and uses rhodium plate which withstands sweat and discolouration and keeps the metal shining longer.

Crossfor offers three types of cut cubic zirconia: the Round Cut, the Crossfor Cut and the Square Cut. The antique-like Crossfor cut reflects light in a cross shape at the heart of the piece. It is patented in 18 countries.

The firm’s Japanese-made designs include: the Love Cross, cross-shaped cubic zirconia in pendant, ring and earrings; the Super Simple line featuring three cubic zirconia, available in pendant, ring and earrings; the Rain line of bracelets and pendants reminiscent of cascading water droplets; and the Crystal Flower, a floral-inspired cubic zirconia line.

Crossfor has a travel retail presence in Japan at the Japan Air Lines (JAL) duty free shop at Tokyo Narita Airport, where the company claims it dramatically increased profitability per 60cm square of case space with its collection. It claims to be selling 150-200 pieces a month at the JAL duty free shop. The Crossfor brand is also sold at Osaka Kansai Airport.

Crossfor is carried onboard JAL and All Nippon Airways, where it “receives a steady order every month”, according to the firm. On special occasions such as anniversaries, Crossfor links up with the airlines in a promotion to boost sales. The firm says it achieves double the regular turnover during these promotions.
