Crystal Head Vodka and local partner J Brands celebrated the launch of the ultra-premium vodka in Malaysia (travel retail and domestic) by hosting a spectacular Halloween party at the W Kuala Lumpur hotel.
It was the vodka brand’s biggest launch of the year in Asia, said the partners. Leading travel retailers represented included Eraman, The Zon, PBH Duty Free and independents from across the Malaysian duty free industry. Guests also included domestic retail partners alongside high-profile models and influencers.

There was a strong Ghostbusters theme to the evening – Crystal Head Co-Owner Dan Aykroyd appeared in the original 1984 film – with an appearance from Malaysia’s only Ghostbusters Ectomobile and a Ghostbusters crew.
DJs Gracie and Dora played tunes through the night at the Wet Deck on the 12th floor of the luxury hotel, with views of the Petronas Twin Towers representing a stunning backdrop.
The signature skull bottle comes in three expressions – Original, Aurora and Onyx. Guests could order bottles and bespoke cocktails made with the brand. W Kuala Lumpur’s Liquid Manager was chief curator, creating rainbow shots called Tęcza that come in exclusive Crystal Head skull shot glasses. Customised Crystal Head Vodka lanyards with a miniature skull bottle were given to floor staff as a token of appreciation for the event launch.
Reacting afterwards to the evening, airport retailer PBH Duty Free stated: “Customers and retailers are constantly calling for something truly special, and Crystal Head Vodka is the answer. A one-of-kind bottle with an ultra-premium, smooth-tasting vodka. What a night.”
A Langkawi Island duty free retailer said: “First time I attended an event where there is a story that takes me through the entire journey.”
A statement from leading supermarket chain Jaya Grocer said: “Attracted by the bottle, never expected that the drink is even better. Onyx is by far my favourite.”
The W Kuala Lumpur Marketing Team added: “Best event so far at W. And one of the coolest bottles ever.”
