Dalloyau makes airport retail debut with Aelia in Paris CDG

FRANCE. On 30 April Aelia Group opened a new fine food store in Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport satellite S3, which caters to long-haul customers onboard Air France. The outlet replaces a branded Swarovski boutique.

The 40sq m store features as its centrepiece a corner by prestigious Parisian fine food, patisserie and chocolates brand Dalloyau, representing the brand’s debut in airport retail.

The origins of the Dalloyau brand date back to the reign of Louis XIV, who appointed Charles Dalloyau as head of the royal bakery. Several hundred years later the family-owned company, member of the Comité Colbert, operates 32 stores worldwide, including eight in Paris, 14 in Japan and ten in South Korea. The Dalloyau counter in CDG S3, offering fresh macaroons, chocolates and pastries, will capitalise on the brand’s strong following in Asia.

The S3 store also features a diverse range of high-end French fine food and confectionery brands, including Fauchon, Maxim’s, Marquise de Sévigné and Valrhona, plus leading Belgian chocolates brand Godiva. In addition, the store offers a range of typically French delicacies such as foie gras, cheeses, mustard and other condiments.

Aelia Head Buyer for Confectionery and Fine Food Sandrine Verrecchia-Godin commented: “This is an exciting development for our fine food business and a great opportunity to test a new concept. The passenger profile in the S3 satellite is ideally suited to a premium gourmet range such as this, given the presence of affluent travellers from Asia and North America.

“We are particularly pleased to introduce Dalloyau to airport retail, and feel that the brand’s quality, history and popularity among key nationalities make it a natural fit for Paris CDG.”
