AUSTRALIA. Actor and comedian Dan Aykroyd has visited Nuance Australia’s stores at Sydney Airport to promote Crystal Head, the premium Canadian vodka brand he co-founded.
Passengers travelling through Nuance’s main tax & duty free store in departures at Sydney Airport on 14 October had the opportunity to purchase a bottle of Crystal Head vodka and have it signed by Aykroyd.
On his first visit to Australia, the Ghostbusters star spent nearly two hours with customers in the store, talking about the product and autographing the distinctive skull-shaped bottles in a special zone near the store exit.
Dedicated staff at nearby displays flagged up the opportunity and also explained that passengers could buy a bottle and pick it up on their return to Australia using the Shop & Collect service.

Additional promotional staff throughout the store and in Nuance’s landside shop also raised awareness and distributed promotional leaflets, while music from his Blues Brothers film helped to build up excitement. Aykroyd then stopped on his way through the landside store to sign additional autographs and Shop & Collect purchases.
Nuance Australia Category Manager – Liquor Kathryn Martin said: “We’re delighted with the buzz that Dan created in our store today. It’s great to see someone so passionate and committed to their product.
“His presence created a really unique and memorable experience for our Sydney Airport customers. The event also drove an incredible volume uplift of nearly +1000% across the three major Crystal Head skulls, so we’re delighted with the result.”
Created using high quality grain and water from Newfoundland Canada, Crystal Head vodka is quadruple distilled, then filtered seven times through semi-precious crystals known as Herkimer diamonds. No glycol, citrus oil or sugars are added during the process.
Crystal Head is currently available in 1.75l and 700ml bottles, while Nuance Australia also lists the limited edition Rolling Stones pack and 50ml Crystal Head miniature.
