Davidoff Cigars extends Winston Churchill collection with new limited edition

Davidoff Cigars has extended its Winston Churchill collection with a limited-edition Perfecto which honours the former UK Prime Minister’s role as a statesman. A round cutter is also new to the range.

According to Davidoff Cigars, its Winston Churchill collection, which includes The Original Series and The Late Night Series, has seen “unprecedented success” in global markets for the past eight years.

The company claimed that Churchill is regarded as “the greatest statesman of the 20th century”, adding that he “often made strategic decisions with a cigar in his hand”.

“A skilled negotiator of his time, he acted on a different maxim when it came to cigars: it was his firm belief that quality is never negotiable,” Davidoff Cigars said in a statement.

The Winston Churchill 2022 edition marries the multi-origin blends of The Original and The Late Hour series with tobaccos from Ecuador, Mexico, the Dominican Republic and Nicaragua.

Wrapped in an oily Ecuadorian leaf, this new expression is the only Perfecto shape in the Winston Churchill range.

Oettinger Davidoff CMO Edward Simon said: “Sir Winston Churchill was an exceptional man and a unique leader with diversified interests and talents. At Davidoff, we are humbled and excited to bring the many dimensions and stories of this inspiring aficionado to life.”

The Winston Churchill collection is backed by a ‘Through the Night into the Day’ campaign

The Winston Churchill 2022 edition is limited to 12,300 boxes, styled to echo Churchill’s briefcase. Each box contains ten pieces and includes a copy of a letter written by Randolph Churchill, his great grandson.

Davidoff Cigars’ new stainless steel and scratch-proof sapphire glass round cutter is designed in the style of an old pocket watch and features Churchill’s silhouette. A leather pouch that can be attached to garments with a chain and a snap lock is included.

The new products will be available at selected Davidoff retailers and in Davidoff flagship stores from February.
