Davidoff Cigars has launched a new interpretation of its iconic 702 Series. The line will be available from February for a limited time only in Europe, Asia and selected duty free markets.
The new 702 Series features a Habano wrapper from Ecuador, said to provide a creamier and more intense taste experience. It also gives additional scents of wood, cream and milky coffee. The wrapper comes from the hybrid of three Cuban Habano seeds and is grown exclusively for Davidoff at the San Juan finca in the foothills of the Andes mountains.

An aficionado panel of 160 cigar enthusiasts tried the cigar and, according to Davidoff, 70% found the taste experience ‘exceptional’.
The full 702 Series comprises:
- Entreacto (a short Corona) enjoyed in 20 minutes
- No. 2 (Panatela) which lasts for 25 minutes
- 2000 (Corona) which has a smoking time of 25 minutes
- Special R (Robusto) which can be enjoyed in 45 minutes
- Aniversario No.3 (Toro), a 50 minute smoke
- Special T (a Torpedo available in the USA only)
- Double R (double Corona available in the USA only)

The cigars come in wooden boxes and packs in the traditional white and gold Davidoff colours, with a strip across the middle to mark the limited-edition 702 Series.
Oettinger Davidoff Senior Vice President Global Marketing and Innovation Charles Awad said: “Davidoff Master Blenders have taken on the challenge to reimagine and reinvent our most iconic cigars – No. 2, 2000, Special R, Aniversario No. 3 among others – and give them an exciting twist for those seeking a more intense, bolder taste experience.
“These cigars, that have defined and refined time, are wrapped in the new 702 ‘Habano’ wrapper from Ecuador to give them a bolder edge. The 702 Series is an exciting opportunity for those who have not yet had the chance to discover, or may want to rediscover, these iconic cigars.”
