USA. Global hospitality and entertainment company Delaware North has opened a Starbucks coffee house in the Charleston International Airport Terminal A-B Connector.
The café venue is the latest element in the revamp of Delaware North’s offer at the South Carolina travel hub following a ten-year contract extension awarded by the Charleston County Aviation Authority (CCAA) in November last year.
The Starbucks officially opened last month and offers handcrafted coffee beverages, premium teas and sweet and savoury baked goods.

Known for its high-quality arabica coffee, Starbucks is bringing its signature experience to travellers with a fully integrated point-of-sale, SBUX Loyalty and mobile app functionalities.
Delaware North is operating this Starbucks in collaboration with three joint-venture partners. They are former South Carolina State Senator Marlon Kimpson; local attorney and businessman Robert Bucholz; and ACDBE (Airport Concessions Disadvantaged Business Enterprise) partner Shawnalea Garvin.
Delaware North Director of Airport Operations Michael Blake said: “We are thrilled to continue our partnership with Charleston International Airport and bring beloved brands such as Starbucks to our travellers. Our goal is to enhance the traveller experience by providing exceptional dining options, and the addition of Starbucks is a key part of that vision.”

CCAA Executive Director Elliott Summey commented: “We are excited to blend the warmth of Starbucks with the spirit of Charleston International Airport. Here, every cup of coffee is crafted to fuel your journey and every visit is a chance to experience a moment of comfort and connection before you take off. Cheers to new adventures and the simple joy of a perfect coffee break.”
Delaware North told The Moodie Davitt Report that the next two projects in its Charleston Airport F&B upgrade programme include openings for Ashley Cooper Provisions and Southern Table by Kardea Brown.
Delaware North’s existing Harvest & Grounds venue will be transformed into proprietary concept Ashley Cooper Provisions, which will include a 50-seat area overlooking the Charleston Airport airfield. Construction is underway with an opening date planned for later this year.
Work will begin on Southern Table by Kardea Brown in early 2025, replacing the existing Jack Nicklaus Golden Bear Grill. The restaurant will feature dishes with traditional Gullah cuisine influences from Kardea Brown, a renowned local celebrity chef and star of the Delicious Miss Brown Food Network series.
