INDIA. Delhi Duty Free and CEO Philip Eckles have been recognised in a prestigious regional retail awards ceremony.
Eckles was presented with a ‘Top Global Retail Mind’ award during the Asia Africa GCC Retail & Shopping Centre Congress, which was held in Mumbai.
Delhi Duty Free was named ‘Travel Retailer of the Year’ for India, and was also awarded in the ‘Best Retail Design: Arrival Duty Free Shops’ and ‘Best Practices in Corporate Governance & Ethics’ categories.
Eckles was recognised for his achievements and leadership skills during his 30 year career within the travel retail industry. He has spent 25 years at ARI, where he has served in a range of senior executive roles including Global Implementation Director & CEO of ARI Middle East, based in Bahrain. Eckles was appointed to the role of Delhi Duty Free CEO in October 2018.
The congress hosted two awards ceremonies: the Retail Excellence Awards on 13 February, and the CSR & Corporate Governance Awards on 18 February.
