“We will ensure that we keep launching innovative and unique promotions which have previously been unheard of in the Indian duty free retail environment“ |
Duncan Lawley CEO Delhi Duty Free |
INDIA. Delhi Duty Free has posted a record US$11.66 million in sales for the month of June, thanks to a host of customer-centric initiatives.
The travel retailer registered 175,000 sales transactions in the month – averaging 5,800 per day – with the highest daily sales figure of US$476,000 recorded on 21 June.
Delhi Duty Free attributed the landmark performance to the year-long BMW X1 campaign and the Cash Back promotion, which were a departure from its usual strategy of offering discounts and free gifts.
The BMW X1 promotion gives Delhi Duty Free customers the chance to win a luxury car every month through a raffle draw, while the Cash Back promotion offers a scratch coupon with every purchase of Nestle Kit Kat, with the chance of winning up to US$150 in shopping vouchers. Over 300 winners have been announced to date.
Delhi Duty Free CEO Duncan Lawley commented: “It’s been a memorable moment for us and with the support and commitment from our team we have created a new benchmark for ourselves.
“We would also like to thank our customers for showing trust and loyalty towards us and our brands, helping Delhi Duty Free raise the profile of retail in India and globally. We will ensure that we keep launching innovative and unique promotions which have previously been unheard of in the Indian duty free retail environment.”
