Delhi Duty Free’s Abhijit Das wins major marketing award

Abhijit Das: major accolade

Delhi Duty Free Head of Marketing Abhijit Das was named Marketing Professional of the Year at the 23rd Global Brand Excellence Awards 2013 held at Taj Land in Mumbai on 22 October.

The awards, recognising brand excellence in organisations, also honour the contribution of individuals. Delhi Duty Free says Das was honoured as a “role model and firm believer in change”.

With more than 15 years experience in the retail Industry, Das has been an influential in retail marketing, mall management, property /asset management, strategic planning, research and integrated marketing channels including digital marketing.

At Delhi Duty Free Das has been responsible for several launches including the first POS enabled loyalty programme and the personal shopping manager service launched for high net worth individuals – Platinum Club. His campaigns include the Mercedes, BMW and Gold promotions which offered Indian travellers the opportunity to win luxury products through duty free retail.

Das was also responsible for launching the Delhi Duty Free Facebook Page, named the Best Facebook Page – Travel Retailer in The Moodies social media awards.
