Desigual makes its Asian airport debut at Singapore Changi Terminal 3 |
SINGAPORE. Leading fashion brand Desigual has opened its first Asia Pacific airport outlet, at Singapore Changi. It is the company’s seventh store in Asia in total, the others on domestic markets (in Singapore and Japan).
The new 90sq m unit is located at Changi T3, and features new collections for women as well as a strong accessories range. It includes the brand’s designs created in collaboration with the French designer Christian Lacroix and its Cirque Du Soleil collection.
A statement from the brand owner said: “Desigual remains true to the brand’s singular style and ambience that characterises all its stores. At Changi Airport Desigual recreates “˜La Vida es Chula’: a magical place that inspires, a relaxing and dreamy oasis that feels like a home away from home.”
It includes a new-look design that evokes a bazaar, including old furniture, works of art, period lamps, Turkish carpets and a melange of rugs in what is described as “an eclectic, bohemian and mismatched blend”.
The brand owner said it aimed to create a sense of “something different, positive and fun”.
The company is forging ahead with its international expansion and plans to finish the year with 60 points of sale in 35 top airports around the world. Currently the fashion brand is present in airports such as Barcelona, Ibiza, Madrid, Paris, Amsterdam, Rome, Munich, Dallas, Houston, Miami, New York and Los Angeles.
Desigual is also preparing to come to major hubs in Asia and South America. It is working with partners such as LS travel retail (Aelia), World Duty Free Group and Dufry.
