The Dewar’s Gold Rush promotion at Hong Kong International Airport in partnership with Free Duty |
HONG KONG. To celebrate the Chinese Year of the Tiger, a Dewar’s Gold Rush promotion was held from 6 January to 2 March at Hong Kong International Airport in partnership with travel retailer Free Duty.
Consumers received a scratch-off card for the chance to win four prizes when they purchased products from the award-winning Dewar’s Scotch whisky portfolio and/or the Aberfeldy single malt Scotch whisky portfolio. All prizes were immediately redeemable at the store before 10 March, 2010.
The Dewar’s Gold Rush programme awarded one female shopper the grand prize, a Year of the Tiger Gold Bar worth US$2,000.
Second-prize winners received Year of the Tiger Gold Coins, with a combined value of US$5,100. Other prizes were a Gold Rush USB flash stick and giant chocolate gold coins.
The Dewar’s Gold Rush programme resulted in a +600% sales uplift in January alone, the company said.
“Hong Kong International Airport and one of the most premium and most sophisticated whisky retailers in Asia, Free Duty, were selected to launch Gold Rush in Asia in response to Dewar’s steady growth and increase in popularity despite the economic slowdown,” said Bacardi Travel Retail Regional Manager Asia-Pacific Jasmin Ljumic.
“We were thrilled to launch this interactive programme with our great retail partner Free Duty.”
