JAPAN. DFS Group has continued the roll out of its T Galleria by DFS brand, bringing the fascia to its downtown store in Naha City, Okinawa. The unveiling coincided with the tenth anniversary of the store and marks the end of a major upgrade at the outlet.
The 10,000sq m store now hosts a Prestige Lounge – available to members of DFS’s new Loyal T programme – a Godiva Café and the Pine Tree Bless restaurant, serving international and Okinawan cuisine in a stylish setting.

The renovation follows the refurbishment of DFS stores at Naha Airport’s domestic terminal and the opening of its new store the international terminal building.
The rebranding is part of a global roll-out for T Galleria by DFS that started in Waikiki in September last year and now includes eight stores in five locations; Hawaii, Hong Kong, Macau, Singapore and Okinawa. Downtown stores in Guam and Saipan will be rebranded in mid-2014.
DFS Chairman and CEO Philippe Schaus said: “As we unveil T Galleria in Okinawa and celebrate the tenth anniversary of our store, we are also incredibly excited about the future of tourism in Okinawa, and we would like to extend a warm welcome to all travellers to the new T Galleria Okinawa.

“Guests will discover that our store offers elevated levels of luxury shopping, iconic brands and products, and the hospitable, personalised service that is so characteristic of Okinawa.”
To celebrate the arrival of T Galleria in Okinawa, Japanese actor, director and artist Yusuke Isey, has created two “T in Art” sculptures. One was unveiled in Tokyo Midtown for public display for three days and the second will be displayed in the boutique hall of T Galleria Okinawa.
Okinawa remains the most popular destination among Japanese travelers and has also welcomed more international travelers in the past year, DFS said, with tourist arrivals in 2013 reaching a record 6.41 million.
