DFS Galleria partners Breast Cancer Foundation in month-long campaign

SINGAPORE. DFS Galleria Singapore is once again sponsoring the Breast Cancer Foundation (BCF) for this year’s month-long “˜Wear the Pink Ribbon’ campaign.

The partnership aims to increase awareness for the cause and raise funds to enable BCF to continue its objective of eradicating breast cancer as a life-threatening disease.

“We are thrilled to continue our partnership with Breast Cancer Foundation for the second year running,” said DFS Galleria Singapore General Manager Rachel Tan. “The number of local women who are benefitting from this partnership continues to grow, and we look forward to expanding our outreach efforts to assist more Singaporean women and families.”

The pins are available for a minimum donation of S$2.00 (US$1.60) for the plain design or S$5.00 (US$4.00) for the crystal solitaire design. Donation boxes will be placed on the first and second floors of DFS Galleria Singapore, at the Platinum Services Club Lounge, GST Counter and the Concierge Desk.

These pins will also be distributed island-wide at various outlets including corporations, schools, supermarkets, retail outlets, restaurants, pharmacies, hospitals and healthcare organisations.

Customers who donate and are spotted wearing the pin in-store from 4-31 October will stand a chance to win a S$50 (US$40) DFS Shopping voucher.

This is DFS Galleria Singapore’s second year sponsoring BCF’s Wear the Pink Ribbon campaign, which encourages the public to donate to a worthy cause and wear Pink Ribbon pins to raise awareness of breast cancer, the number one cancer affecting women in Singapore. It is an annual event organised by BCF every October during Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

On 4 October, DFS held a special charity event for customers of DFS Galleria Singapore, with a day of activities including nail art, airbrush tattooing and make-over sessions at the Event Pad by Giorgio Armani Beauty. A local DJ was also present in-store reporting live on the happenings of the day.

DFS also played host to volunteers who collected donations from the public along the streets of Orchard Road. The volunteers were accompanied by a group of male models who expressed interest to be a part of the event in support of this worthy cause.
