Dior and The Shilla Duty Free reveal the ‘Ball of Dreams’ at Hong Kong International Airport

HONG KONG, CHINA. On 5 December, Dior Parfums (LVMH Beauty) introduced the ‘Ball of Dreams’ pop-up at Hong Kong International Airport in partnership with The Shilla Duty Free.

The immersive animation, running until 8 January, combines retail theatre with elegant aesthetics. It takes inspiration from the Château de Versailles (France) and Christian Dior’s love for its costumed balls.

The Dior ‘Ball of Dreams’ Christmas tree and pop-up were unveiled with a ribbon-cutting ceremony graced by (from left): JCDecaux Transport, Airport General Manager Arnaud Redon; JCDecaux Transport, Hong Kong & Macau Managing Director Shirley Chan; Dior and LVMH Beauty Southeast Asia Travel Retail Regional Director Yi Xuan Chai; Dior Asia Pacific Travel Retail Marketing & Retail Training Director Katiba Belkhadria; Dior and LVMH Beauty Travel Retail Asia Pacific Managing Director Catherine Sauvage; Airport Authority Hong Kong Acting Deputy Director, Commerical Alby Tsang; The Shilla Duty Free Hong Kong Managing Director Danny Lee; and The Shilla Duty Free Hong Kong Merchandising Director Junu Jung

The Dior Christmas tree, adorned with golden accents and hero products, welcomes travellers to the Central Concourse. The 5.2m tree pays tribute to Louis XIV’s legacy, featuring the sun as a symbol of his reign.

LVMH Beauty has also unveiled Dior’s first-ever perfumes and cosmetics boutique at Hong Kong International Airport.

The 98sq m space presents the brand’s triple-axis portfolio of fragrance, makeup and skincare. This includes La Collection Privée, a luxury line of artisan fragrances created by the French luxury fashion & beauty house.

The Dior boutique offers travellers personalised skincare services including treatments targeting facial contours and the eye area.

Services include a 20-minute skin profiling session using the skincare analyser, the 10-minute Le Soin Dior Prestige facial, and the 10-minute Multidimensional Eye Area Treatment.

Luxury meets personalisation

The Dior Ball of Dreams holiday collection, created in collaboration with Italian artist Pietro Ruffo, features motifs from the Château de Versailles.

The collection incorporates elements such as the sun and fleur-de-lis from the palace’s gilded gates, black-and-white chequered marble floor, clock dial and floral motifs from the Savonnerie carpet in the Petit Trianon. These details are reflected in the golden illustrations adorning the collection’s packaging.

The Dior pop-up in East Hall South spotlights the holiday collection and a selection of gifts including limited-edition makeup, the 30 Montaigne Advent Calendar and the J’adore Music Box.

The white and gold music box pairs the Dior J’adore L’Or perfume with an exclusive symphony

Gifts can be customised with Dior’s on-site personalisation services including engraved details, bespoke ribbons and greeting cards.

Dior’s signature gift boxes feature a white ribbon with gold trim, tied with fontange, poignard or papillon bows.

Each bow is adorned with Christian Dior’s gold star, and the ribbon can be personalised with four gold charms representing the designer’s symbols: a star, bee, sun and ‘CD’ initials. Customers can also receive a personalised gold luggage tag with their initials.

Elevating holiday gifting

Dior has reissued its limited edition 30 Montaigne Advent Calendar. A tribute to the House’s address in Paris, the calendar’s façade is decorated with metallic gold Christian Dior initials, and behind its doors is a radiant sun.

Inside, 24 Dior creations are revealed, including perfumes, skincare, makeup and the Bois des Rêves candle with woody notes. After the holiday season, the calendar’s drawers can be repurposed as jewellery boxes.

The J’adore Music Box is a white-and-gold vault containing Dior J’adore L’Or perfume. A turn of a key activates a miniature performance, with small J’adore bottles spinning around the perfume to an exclusive musical composition.

Additionally, Christian Dior Makeup Creative & Image Director Peter Philips has created a holiday look inspired by the grand balls of Versailles, featuring ruby red, burgundy, pink and gold hues.

This look highlights two limited-edition Diorshow 5 Couleurs eyeshadow palettes, embossed with Ruffo’s interpretation of the codes of Versailles and housed in a golden case.

The French maison recommends Dior Forever Liquid Sequin coupled with Dior Addict for maximum shine, and Rouge Dior lipstick in Velvet or Satin finish for a subtle look.

Dior and LVMH Beauty Travel Retail Asia Pacific Managing Director Catherine Sauvage said: “The Ball of Dreams from the House of Dior rings in the holidays at Hong Kong International Airport, in collaboration with our partners at Hong Kong Airport Group and The Shilla Duty Free.
