French fragrance house Diptyque has unveiled Doson, a limited-edition fragrance collection inspired by the childhood memories of Yves Coueslant, one of Diptyque’s founders.
Doson will only be available in travel retail from 15 March to 2 June.
The floral fragrance was created by Perfumer Fabrice Pellegrin and is centred around a refreshing marine accord with Tuberose, Orange Blossom and Jasmine notes.
The collection comprises the Doson Eau de Toilette in 30ml and 100ml formats, Eau de Parfum (75ml), Hand Cream, Candle Tubéreuse and Gift Set. The Doson Gift Set includes the Eau de Toilette, Hand Cream and Candle.
Doson pays tribute to Coueslant’s childhood memories of summers spent in his father’s pagoda in Do Son, Along Bay in Vietnam.
The pagoda was far from the bustle and humidity of Haiphong Port and offered the perfect spot to enjoy the sea breeze which brought spicy tuberose scents from the nearby market.
To celebrate the launch, Diptyque has collaborated with acclaimed fashion photographer Tim Walker to release a limited-edition book that features sumptuous photographs representing Walker’s own portrayals of Doson.
The book, titled ‘Invitation To A Faraway Imaginary’, portrays surreal landscapes of beaches, voyages, nautical elements and Vietnamese influences. It is exclusively available in Diptyque’s stores.
