UAE. Dubai Duty Free and Pernod Ricard Global Travel Retail are celebrating a historic milestone after selling the Royal Salute Platinum Jubilee Collection for a record-breaking US$140,000.
The sale is the highest single transaction ever recorded in the travel retailer’s wines & spirits category.
As reported, the limited-edition expression was launched in 2022 in celebration of the Platinum Jubilee of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.
The release underlines the deep-rooted historical link between Royal Salute and the British monarchy, reflecting over 70 years of Her Majesty’s reign, beginning with the creation of the first Royal Salute flagons in 1953 to honour the Coronation.
Owned by Pernod Ricard, Royal Salute has become popular for crafting some of the finest aged whiskies in the world including this limited-edition and ultra-rare expression. Only 147 bottles have been released globally.
The complete seven-bottle line of the Royal Salute Platinum Jubilee Edition features a specially designed crystal decanter. Each bottle represents a decade of Queen Elizabeth II’s historic 70-year reign.
Royal Salute took inspiration from seven vibrant brooches from Her Majesty’s personal collection, whose designs were engraved on seven rare decanters and cases.
An exclusive collector’s item was sold at Dubai Duty Free in the recently inaugurated Royal Salute Luxury Boutique in Terminal 3 Departures, Concourse A.
