UAE. To celebrate the 20th year of the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships last week, the retailer offered spectators the chance to win a trip for two to Wimbledon in its “˜3 Aces to London’ promotion. The prize includes return flights, five-star accommodation, invites to the exclusive pre-Wimbledon WTA/DDF tennis party, as well as two tickets to watch the first day of play at Wimbledon.
The promotion was open to all ticket holders attending the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships and the draw was conducted by the men’s champion, Roger Federer, after the closing ceremony.
Federer drew the ticket of Avinash Gonamanda. When advised of his win, Mr. Gonamanda said: “I am excited to be making my first visit to London and I’m really looking forward to watching some tennis action at the historic Wimbledon. Thank you Dubai Duty Free!”
Gonamanda, an Indian national, moved to Dubai a year ago and made his first visit to the Dubai Tennis Stadium during women’s week. A father of one and an employee of a software company, Gonamanda scored three aces when he correctly answered the three questions on the coupon.
