UAE. Dubai Duty Free is preparing to host many of tennis’s biggest names as organiser of what it says is one of the biggest events on the UAE sporting calendar.
The 2019 edition of the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships will take place between 17 February and 2 March.
Seven-time Dubai champion Roger Federer and three-time Grand Slam winner Andy Murray head up the ATP field. World number one Simona Halep, title holder Elina Svitolina and previous tournament winner Caroline Wozniacki have been confirmed among the WTA line-up, which includes nine of the world’s top ten.


“We are thrilled to once again welcome the world’s top players to the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships,” said Dubai Duty Free Executive Vice Chairman and CEO Colm McLoughlin. “Both the men’s and women’s fields are incredibly strong with a host of current and former champions, young up-and-comers, and new faces to Dubai all set for a gripping two weeks of action.”
Tickets for the event go on sale at 9am on Thursday 10 January at www.dubaidutyfreetennischampionships.com. Tickets will later be available at the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Stadium Box Office, which will open on 28 January.


Tournament Director Salah Tahlak commented: “We’re delighted with the exceptional line-up of players heading to the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Stadium in 2019 which is sure to provide world-class action on the courts for two weeks and give every fan the opportunity to see a top player in action on Centre Court.
“We are also ensuring there are plenty of activities in and around the Tennis Village so fans can make it a visit to remember. The Tennis Village will be buzzing with entertainment, music, and selfie opportunities; the big screens around The Irish Village will be showing the action live; and [there will be] a host of other activities as well as plenty of competitions for fans to win those sought-after finals tickets.”
