UAE. Dubai Duty Free has launched multiple shopping promotions in celebration of its 40th anniversary, which it celebrates on 20 December. [Watch out for our on location reporting of the anniversary from Dubai next week -Ed]
Under the theme ‘Full of Surprises’, the leading travel retailer has rolled out 40th Anniversary Shop & Win Gold, Dubai Duty Free 40th Anniversary Surprise and Shopping List promotions.
To start the anniversary celebrations, Dubai Duty Free launched a four-week Shop & Win Gold campaign which is running until 17 December. The promotion is open to inbound and outbound passengers travelling through Dubai International and Al Maktoum International airports as well as those shopping online through dubaidutyfree.com.
The retailer has also released limited-edition commemorative gold and silver bars exclusively designed and made for Dubai Duty Free by PAMP Swiss. Each bar weighs 10gm and features the 40th anniversary logo with the years 1983–2023 on the front side and the Dubai Duty Free logo on the opposite side. The special Swiss-made bars are limited to only 888 and 160 will be given away to lucky shoppers.
To be eligible to win one of the Swiss-made bars available, travellers must spend AED 400 (US$109) or more. Forty winners will be selected every week and as of now, 120 winners have been announced. The final draw is scheduled for 20 December.
As part of the Dubai Duty Free 40th Anniversary Surprise campaign, the retailer is offering shoppers the opportunity to win a Dubai Duty Free Gift Card to the value of AED40,000 (US$10,900) for a ticket purchase of only AED40 (US$11).
This promotion is valid until 20 December with tickets limited to only 1,000 per series.
The retailer is also giving shoppers the opportunity to win a AED40,000 (US$10,900) Dubai Duty Free Gift Card through radio programmes airing across four radio shows on Dubai 92 FM until 20 December.
Dubai Duty Free is also offering its employees an opportunity to win cash worth AED40,000 (US$10,900). With only 1,000 tickets available, staff can purchase a ticket for AED40 (US$11).
On the anniversary day itself, Dubai Duty Free will offer a -25% discount on a wide selection of products which includes tickets for the Dubai Duty Free Millennium Millionaire and Finest Surprise promotions.
The -25% off promotion is valid across key categories including perfumes, cosmetics, liquor, watches, jewellery, confectionary, and leather goods, with the exception of certain categories such as gold, electronics, and select fashion brands and is open both in-store and online.
