Dubai Duty Free unveils latest winner in Millennium Millionaire draw

UAE. The draw for Dubai Duty Free’s Millennium Millionaire took place this week at Dubai International Airport, producing the promotion’s 147th US$1 million winner.

TP Sandhu, a businessman living in Dubai for 24 years, is the 62nd Indian national to win the Millennium Millionaire draw, armed with the winning ticket no. 3769.

“I have participated in the Millennium Millionaire promotion for the last ten years but nonetheless I was a little unsure when I received a call from Dubai Duty Free,” Mr Sandhu said. “I thought it was a joke until my details were read over the phone and then I realised that I had just become a millionaire.”

Following the Millennium Millionaire, three more winners were announced in Dubai Duty Free’s Finest Surprise Promotion:
• Dr Mansour Mohd Yousef, an UAE national living in Dubai won a Mercedes Benz S500 in Series 1534 with ticket no. 0486
• Thomas Thomas, another Indian national based in the US, won the latest model of a Porsche 911 Carrera Coupe in Series 1532 with ticket no. 0671
• Bhupesh Malhotra, a Dubai-based Canadian national, won a Ducati Streetfigther 848 motorbike

A presentation to previous Millennium Millionaire winners also took place at the draw.

Salil Sethunath, an Indian national residing in Abu Dhabi, whose ticket no. 0540 was drawn in Series 146 a few weeks earlier, was presented with a ceremonial cheque for US$1 million.

Mr Sethunath, accompanied by his wife Mamta Sharma, said: “I am the luckiest person on earth to have won such a huge amount. I still couldn’t believe [it until] I was holding my winning cheque. I will be forever grateful to Dubai Duty Free for coming with this amazing promotion.”

The Dubai Duty Free Millennium Millionaire and Finest Surprise Draw were conducted by Dubai Duty Free’s Executive Vice Chairman Colm McLoughlin, President George Horan, Senior Vice President – Corporate Communications Salah Tahlak, and Senior Vice President – IT & Logistics Ramesh Cidambi.
