SWITZERLAND. Zurich Airport and Dufry have raised CHF397,431 (US$433,000) from their combined ‘Charity Water’ project. This year the proceeds were donated to Stiftung Kinderhilfe Sternschnuppe, a Charity Water project beneficiary from June 2021 until December 2022.
The organisation has been reaching out to underprivileged children and young people living with illness and disability since 1993. It grants the children’s wishes and organises family excursions and other leisure activities .
The Charity Water project was launched in 2014 as a joint effort between Dufry Group and Zurich Airport. The Swiss mineral water is sourced from the Adello spring in Adelboden.
For every bottle sold for US$2.72 (CHF 2.50), US$0.54 (CHF 0.50) goes to the chosen charity.

Stiftung Kinderhilfe Sternschnuppe is the sixth organisation to have been supported by this project. Other beneficiaries include the Kinderspital Zürich, Schweizer Berghilfe, Kinder-Spitex Kanton Zürich, Smiling Gecko and Pro Juventute.
For 2023, Dufry and Zurich Airport have chosen a new partner, the Sozialwerk Pfarrer Sieber. This organisation provides pastoral, social, medical and other assistance to disadvantaged people, such as the homeless, migrant workers, and those dealing with addiction, illnesses, domestic violence, and other distressed individuals.✈
