Dufry opens new Ghana shops with strong focus on quality destination offer – 25/06/04

GHANA. Swiss travel retailer Dufry officially opened its latest shops in the newly-refurbished departure terminal at Kotoka International Airport in Accra, Ghana on 17 June.

The main 250sq m shop carries a classic duty free assortment. In addition, one corner is dedicated to the successful Bijoux Terner product line. Dufry has a close relationship with US company Bijoux Terner, which specializes in stores or corners that sell a range of jewellery and accessories at a single price point, US$10 or an appropriate local equivalent.

Dufry, which is strongly committed to a quality destination merchandise offer through its global network, has also opened the “˜African Art shop’. This 100sq m store offers a diverse assortment of local products such as dresses and fabrics, wood and brass figures, local jewellery, drums and a wide selection of indigenous items.

Both shops are open 24 hours a day and are well located in the departure lounge through which all passengers walk before boarding.

Dufry Director Retail Operations Western Africa and Managing Director Ghana Felix Brunner, said: “We are extremely happy to finally have opened our two new shops and are confident that the introduced open shop concept will attract a lot of customers.”
