Duncan Garrood leaves BAA for a taste of Starbucks – 29/01/09

UK. BAA today announced that Commercial Director Duncan Garrood is to leave the UK airport company after five years.

Garrood is to become CEO of Starbucks with the Alshaya Retail Group based in Kuwait, where he will be working on the Starbucks franchise roll-out in the Middle East, North Africa, Russia and Eastern Europe.

His replacement at BAA is John Holland-Kaye, who will take up his position in early May. Holland-Kaye is currently CEO UK of Taylor Wimpey Plc and previously held roles including Managing Director of Taylor Woodrow Developments and Director IR, Strategy, Sales and Marketing.

Before that, he was Managing Director, National Sales Division, of Bass Brewers, and has also worked as a strategy consultant for a number of high-profile businesses.
