INTERNATIONAL. Duty Free Americas (DFA) and Delhi Duty Free are among the regional winners of the ‘Travel Retailer of the year’ category in Whisky Magazine’s Icons of Whisky 2017 awards.
DFA won in the Icons of Whisky Americas section for the second year running. DFS Group was Highly Commended, while Dufry, International Shoppes and Starboard Cruise Services were also shortlisted.
Delhi Duty Free at Indira Gandhi International Airport won in the Icons of Whisky India section, with DFS Mumbai Highly Commended.
In the Icons of Whisky Scotland section, World of Whiskies at Edinburgh and Glasgow airports took the title for the second year running. World of Whiskies is operated by Dufry company World Duty Free Group. The Fly Nip Whisky Shop at Inverness Airport was Highly Commended.
World of Whiskies at London Heathrow Airport was successful in the Icons of Whisky Rest of the World section. Schiphol Airport Retail at Amsterdam’s Schiphol Airport was Highly Commended.
The regional winners will now compete for the overall Icons of Whisky title in the Travel Retailer of the year category, as judged by Whisky Magazine’s editorial panel.
The results will be announced at the Whisky Magazine Awards dinner in London on 30 March.
