HAITI. Duty Free Americas has opened an Arrivals duty free store at Toussaint Louverture International Airport near the capital city Port-au-Prince.
The opening, which took place on 18 December, will be followed by a new Departures duty free store in early 2013.
Duty Free Americas Director Leon Falic told The Moodie Report: “Both stores are high quality. We want the country to feel they have a top-class duty free retail offer and items.”
The Arrivals store is 180sq m and offers employment to 25 Haitians. The new duty free offer is a major boost for the airport, which has seen a huge increase in traffic since the devastating Haitian earthquake of 2010
