US. Duty Free Americas (DFA) has been selected as the new duty free retailer at Charlotte-Douglas International Airport.
DFA’s operations at two stores in Terminal D and the Atrium commenced on 1 February. The stores cover a combined 2,252sq ft and serve international flights to London, Rio de Janeiro, Frankfurt, Munich, Mexico and Canada, along with various Caribbean destinations.
“This is a terrific opportunity for DFA, as we are extremely familiar with the international destinations served by Charlotte-Douglas International Airport and, most importantly, the buying preferences of passengers traveling to those countries,” said Duty Free Americas Chairman Simon Falic.
“We are committed to enhancing the duty free retail opportunity in Charlotte by bringing the very best in customer service, as well as outstanding brands at duty free prices, to the airport’s passengers. We look forward to being part of the overall concession plan of this great airport,” he added.
DFA operates 109 duty free stores in the US, including 46 US airport stores and 63 border stores on the US-Mexico and US-Canada borders. The company’s affiliates also operate duty free stores throughout Latin America and in Macao.
