UK. easyJet has taken the Airline of the Year prize at the Inflight Sales Person of the Year (ISPY) Awards, with Air Canada crew members also winning top sales awards.
The event took place on Friday (17 January) night in Brighton, capping the week-long ISPY event, which attracted airlines and inflight concessionaires from around the world as well as major brands and distributors.
A host of team and individual prizes were handed out at the Gala Awards, with Air Canada’s Caroline Perreault the winner of the Inflight Sales Person of the Year award. Meanwhile Perreault and fellow Air Canada crew member Hugo Phaneuf took the Inflight Sales People of the Year award.
In addition to the flight crew training and testing throughout the week, the event also hosted a trade show and sessions and workshops for airline management and concessionaires. A “˜state of the industry’ workshop on Thursday saw speakers call on the inflight retail industry to innovate, embrace technology and foster closer relationships between airlines and concessionaires.
In a surprise announcement at Friday’s awards, organisers handed Britvic Business Development Manager Bob Franks the Lifetime Achievement Award, recognising his long-term support for the event.
