RUSSIA. Low cost airline easyJet is to list Russian Standard vodka among the products for sale onboard international flights, coinciding with the launch of its first flights to Moscow.
The brand will be listed from 14 March across the network of 600 routes across 30 countries. The first Moscow flight will take off from London Gatwick Airport four days later, with a service commencing from Manchester Airport on 28 March.
“As we prepare to launch two exciting new routes to Moscow we are proud to stock Russia’s number one premium vodka on board,” said easyJet’s Sharon Huetson.
According to Russian Standard its portfolio commands a 40% share of the premium vodka market in Russia, while sales topped 2.9 million cases globally in 2012. It has also cited Nielsen data naming it the number two premium vodka in the UK.
Russian Standard Global Marketing Manager Travel Retail Andrew Notcutt said: “We are delighted with this partnership with easyJet, and are convinced this listing will get tourists of every nationality nicely in the holiday spirit.”
The vodka will feature in easyJet’s latest “˜Boutique and Bistro’ inflight service – available to view online from 14 March at: buyonboard.easyjet.com.
