Electronics group Samsung opens pop-up store at Copenhagen Airport

DENMARK. Consumer electronics manufacturer Samsung has opened a pop-up shop at Copenhagen Airport.

Located in the Nytorv area between Terminals 2 and 3, the store features Samsung’s latest products in what it describes as “a stylish fusion of Asian futurism and Scandinavian design tradition”.

Travellers have the opportunity to see and buy the latest products from the Korean brand. These include its smartphones, tablets, cameras, TVs and laptops. Featured products include Samsung’s new Series 9 Ultra High Definition TVs, Galaxy Note 3 and Galaxy Gear.

Shoppers will also be able to purchase a wide range of covers and accessories in the shop, which lines up in the zone alongside Eton, Marc by Marc Jacobs and the Danish high end bakery chain Lagkagehuset.

A stylish fusion of Asian futurism and Scandinavian design tradition: The new Samsung store in Copenhagen Airport

Country Manager for Samsung in Denmark Claus Holm said: “We are proud to open the doors to Samsung’s world of consumer electronics in Copenhagen Airport.

“We hope that the store will be a place where travellers stop by to relax and find inspiration, buy gifts for their families back home, and to get tips and tricks for the Samsung products they already own.”

The atmosphere of Samsung’s store aims to be reminiscent of an exclusive travel lounge, with dimmed lighting and soft music playing through the speakers.

Its concept is said to be inspired by the idea of creating a cultural meeting between the “peaceful and minimalistic” Scandinavia and the “vibrant and forward-looking” Asia. This is manifested through the interior décor, with colour and texture gradients such as polished to matt and light to dark.

Copenhagen Airport Sales and Market Director Carsten Nørland said: “Samsung’s universe is unique and exclusive, with highly relevant products for the many travellers who are passionate about the latest gadgets and who want to be inspired when they are on the go.

“And the pop-up concept is a perfect match for the airport’s ambition of always offering travellers a little more than they expect.”
