Ex-DFS Regional President David Charles moves to Maui Divers Jewelry

USA (HAWAII). Former DFS Hawaii Division Managing Director David Charles (left) has been named President and CEO of Maui Divers Jewelry.

Charles left the travel retailer earlier this year after more than 25 years’ outstanding service.

He became Managing Director of DFS Hawaii Division in early 2010, having relocated from Hong Kong, where since 2005 he had been Managing Director, Hong Kong, Korea, Taiwan and Hainan stores and the DFS Galleria Macao development.

Charles originally joined DFS Australia Finance in 1989, worked in marketing and became Director of Business Development, Oceania Division, overseeing store design and development. He was then promoted to Vice President Business Development for Asia Group in Singapore, where he managed Store Design and Development including the creation of a new liquor & tobacco retail concept for Changi Airport and the award-winning DFS Galleria Okinawa.

“David is a successful leader with a track record of growing existing operations and securing new venture,” said Maui Divers Jewelry Co-Founder Cliff Slater in a statement reported by Pacific Business News. “He has the management experience, passion and innovative thinking to move this company forward.”
