Excess Baggage Company to open second outlet in Heathrow T5

UK. Excess Baggage Company is to open a second outlet in Terminal 5 at Heathrow Airport, offering a range of travel goods from brands including Rimowa, Delsey, Trunki and Carlton.

The store will be located landside on the main concourse and the expansion of the retailer’s footprint at the hub follows on from the announcement earlier this year that it will have two outlets in the new Terminal 2 when it opens next June.

Excess Baggage Company Managing Director David Elliott said: “We have been partnering with Heathrow for over 22 years, and in that time, we have become established as a leading player in luggage retail. We are delighted to be building our business at this world-leading airport.”

The company said it had seen a significant increase in its business at Heathrow Airport. In August alone sales were up by over +8% year on year.

“As the leading name in baggage services, the Excess Baggage store will introduce the first paid bag weighing machine which provides great customer service to our passengers by providing airline specific information for their onward journeys,” said Heathrow Senior Retail Manager Sam Havard.

“The luggage retail offer will also compliment the services available and provide an enhanced passenger experience. This demonstrates a great partnership which we continue to develop with Excess Baggage.”
