The walkthrough store – located in the Terminal 2 Non-Schengen area – has a renewed sense of place with a design inspired by the Finnish landscape. It incorporates natural materials, and what Avolta describes as a ‘muted’ colour palette.

Present at the store’s ribbon-cutting ceremony are (from left) Avolta CEO Northern, Central & Eastern Europe Walter Seib; Helsinki Airport Senior Vice President Ulla Serlenius; Avolta Finland Retail Operations General Manager Janne Nieminen; Finavia Director of Commercial Services Business Nora Immonen; Finavia Commercial Manager Milla Suonoja; and Avolta Nordic General Manager Margareta Le Calvé

Avolta told The Moodie Davitt Report that sustainability was a key focus of the refurbishment programme, which took just under six months to complete so as not to disrupt trading.
