Exclusive Brands launches two new kosher vodkas in Poland

POLAND. Exclusive Brands Distribution (EBD), a new Polish wines and spirits distributor, launched two kosher vodkas – Hava Nagila Kosher Vodka and Exclusive Kosher Vodka – in the Polish domestic and duty free markets last month.

The two brands are positioned in the super premium and the premium segments and initial sales have been very successful, according to the Krakow-based company. The firm is also focused on rolling the brands out in several international markets.

EBD is led by former Belvedere executives Czarek Potocki and Wojtek Wydro, who have more than 20 years combined experience in wine and spirits sales and the marketing of international premium brands. With the backing of a number of Israeli investors, the company – in addition to launching the two new vodkas – plans to become a major distributor of premium wines and spirits brands throughout Central and Eastern Europe.

Wydro said: “With Hava Nagila, we are targeting North America, in addition to Israel and Poland. We are convinced we have a super package and a great product to compete against the top ultra-premium vodkas. Initially, we are focusing on Canada and we are also talking to a number of niche importers in the US. Duty free and travel retail are also key segments we will be looking at in the early stages and we are already presenting the brand to a number of leading operators in different parts of the world.”

Wydro added: “With Exclusive, the core markets will be Central and Eastern Europe but we will also be looking at a number of important vodka markets in Europe and South America.”

Potocki said: “The company is already up and running in Poland and Romania with our own staff and we will also be offering a country management service to our principals in other Central and Eastern European countries. We have very strong ties with distributors in our neighbouring countries and we know that we can help our principals develop their sales there.”

The company is also looking to add more brands to its portfolio to grow in its core markets. Wydro continued: “We are already selling Alexander Grappa and the Bottega liqueur brands as well as the Bottega range of wines and Prosecco. We are in advanced talks with a number of potential partners and we hope to announce then introduction of additional brands to our portfolio before the summer. Our potential partners realise that we have very wide experience in drinks marketing and they very much appreciate our experience as brand owners – they know that we can manage the distribution of their brands in the same way that they would.

“We have a very clear strategy for the development of our company as well as clear and concise plans for the brands we own and the brands we represent. We are very focused in becoming one of the leading players in wine & spirit marketing in Central and Eastern Europe,” Wydro added.
