SWITZERLAND. The programme for the fifth Airport Food & Beverage (FAB) Conference to be held in Geneva from 29 June to 1 July includes a ‘who’s who’ of the world’s leading F&B concessionaires and some of the most consumer-minded airports (scroll down for full agenda).
FAB is organised by The Moodie Davitt Report (with sister title The Foodie Report) and will be jointly hosted this year by Geneva Airport and Caviar House Airport Premium.
Platinum Sponsors are travel retail and food & beverage services provider Areas, SSP, Autogrill and HMSHost. Autogrill and HMSHost are jointly sponsoring the Opening Cocktail event, which takes place in the Le Chef restaurant at Geneva Airport on 29 June.
Further sponsors include Flio, Lite Bite Foods, OTG, Reco-Air, Travel Food Services (TFS) and TRG Concessions
A Gala Dinner on 30 June, hosted by Caviar House Airport Premium, will see the annual FAB Awards recognise and reward best practice in airport (and railway station) food & beverage. This year’s awards attracted over 270 entries.
FAB attracts senior representatives from the world’s leading airports, railway station operators and F&B concessionaires to network with industry peers, share insights and celebrate best practice in this burgeoning sector.
Preliminary judging for FAB awards took place in London recently. The judging panel comprises Martin Moodie, Founder & Chairman, The Moodie Davitt Report & The Foodie Report; David King, Founder, The David King Partnership; Charlotte Christiansen, Associate Director, Davis Coffer Lyons (previously London Gatwick Business Development & Retail Performance Manager); and Anders Barsøe, Managing Director – Meyers and Løgismose’s directly owned shops and restaurants, Denmark (a former chef and previously Copenhagen Airports Category Manager – Food & Beverage and Convenience). Where results are too close to call further diligence is currently being conducted. A short list will be announced in coming days.
Martin Moodie said: “The depth and quality of this year’s nominations are simply astounding. With FAB, the judges’ job has always been difficult but the class of 2016 represents a step change in the diversity, excellence, commitment and thought that underpins the entries. Collectively they represent a fascinating snapshot of travel related food & beverage in terms of trends, tastes, consumer communication, Corporate Social Responsibility and commercial success.”
The closing day of FAB 2016 will coincide with the opening of the 50th anniversary Montreux Jazz Festival, on Friday 1 July, to which FAB delegates will receive complimentary transport and passes to the opening night.
