Fauchon introduced its 2014 summer collection, Fruit Fiction, at the TFWA Asia Pacific exhibition in Singapore last month.
Featuring a galaxy theme and fresh, tangy flavours, the new collection is made of the finest fruit and vegetables that arrive in the House’s kitchens over the course of the season.
Fruit Fiction includes a chocolate assortment, tea, biscuits, jelly, fruit pastes and a brand new macaron flavour.
Made in Fruit Fiction Chocolate
This summer, the Fruit Fiction 25-piece chocolate assortment features two new seasonal recipes. The first is covered by a crunchy dark chocolate, concealing a raspberry ganache spiced up by Pondicherry Malabar pepper. The second new flavour comprises a milk chocolate coating and a soft lemon centre, with a blend of fresh lemon almond paste and a hazelnut and coriander praline.
Three chocolates from the Fauchon classic collection – a hazelnut and coconut praline, an almond and lemon praline, and a passion fruit ganache – round up the assortment.
Fruit Fiction Tea
This limited edition summer blend (100g) contains green tea leaves combined with the tangy flavour of pineapple and the sugary sweetness of exotic fruits.
The F Biscuits
The Fruit Fiction versions of these square biscuits come in two new recipes. The first features the fresh and tangy notes of lemon paste and the sweetness of milk chocolate, while the second combines a white chocolate coating with fruit-of-the-forest flavours: wild strawberries, raspberries, blackberries and blueberries. They are presented in a tin of 16 biscuits.

Galactic Blackcurrant and Violet Jelly
This 250g pot of jelly combines blackcurrant and violet, creating what Fauchon describes as “a gourmet, sweet and fruity tasting experience”.
Fruit Comets
These four fruit pastes pair diverse flavours for an unexpected tasting experience: vanilla enhances wild blueberries, ginger develops the strong taste of lemon, candied orange adds zing to Mirabelle plums, and pepper brings out the flavour of the raspberry. They are presented in an 85g box containing 16 miniature fruit pastes.
The Apricot and Lemon Big Bang
This new macaron recipe showcases an apricot and lemon creamy ganache with an orange-coloured almond shell.
The French gourmet food brand has been making inroads recently in its three main markets: Asia, Europe and the Middle East.
On 27 May, Fauchon unveiled a new store at Hamad International Airport in Doha, offering a range of chocolates, gift items, gourmet packed food and fresh macarons over the macaron counter. It hopes to build on this opening to expand further across the Middle East region.
In Asia, the brand is doing well at Changi Airport; it has been working on a wall concept and is looking to develop a gift shop concept similar to that in its Paris stores. The brand currently has two stores in Hong Kong (where it also has an office) and two stores in Bangkok, all located downtown.
As reported, Fauchon recently opened a pop-up counter in partnership with Heinemann Duty Free at Frankfurt Airport. The promotion, which will run at Heinemann’s Z-Main Non Schengen Shop until the end of June, features a macaron counter and gift selection. The brand is looking to replicate the pop-up concept in other airports should the promotion prove to be well-received.
