NORDIC REGION. Lennart Anselmsson, Managing Director of ferry company Sundservice AB, has been elected to the Nordic Travel Retail Group Board at the association’s annual meeting. Anselmsson replaces Henrik Tornager, Manager of Scandlines.
Erik Thomsen, who continues as Chairman, said of the appointment: “We are very pleased to welcome Lennart to the Board. He represents the ferry business, which is by far the biggest operator in the Nordic travel retail market. Furthermore we consider Lennart’s Swedish nationality an advantage. We have been working on making the association Nordic through the last few years, and to fulfil that goal we need a truly Nordic Board.”
The Nordic Travel Retail Group has been growing steadily during 2005 and gained eight new member companies. The association now includes member companies from Denmark, Iceland, Sweden, Norway and Finland.
New Nordic consumer research
The group’s next big event will be the 2006 Nordic Travel Retail Seminar from 3 to 5 May, where new Nordic consumer research will be released.
Explained Thomsen: “We completed a larger consumer research in 2004 as well, but it was only possible because the detailed reports and findings were sold for a very high price. In 2006 we are able to offer all participants not only the general presentation as a part of the seminar, but also the details and figures at a very low price – and even lower for member companies. This is possible only because we are now larger and stronger as an Nordic organisation.”
