ITALY. Milan Malpensa Airport has launched an online luxury brand marketplace for travellers that airport company SEA describes as a first for airports in Italy.
The Milano Malpensa Boutique portal features about 2,000 products, many at duty free prices, in partnership with travel retailer Dufry.

“The portal is a new and important piece of the SEA omnichannel strategy,” said the airport company.

Access to shopping via the Milano Malpensa Boutique requires the entry of personal data and flight details, with no registration required. Duty free prices are available to those travelling to non-EU destinations while intra-EU travellers can access goods at duty paid prices.
Purchases go through on the day of the traveller’s flight departure, with products collected in-store or at pick-up points at the airport.
SEA Director of Non-Aviation Business Development Luigi Battuello said: “The Milano Malpensa Boutique Marketplace is a project started before the pandemic, strengthened by the crisis, which accelerated its development. Innovation, including in retail, is an essential part of SEA’s strategy to improve the overall passenger experience.”
