Lithuanian Airports has selected FLIO as the official app at Vilnius, Kaunas and Palanga airports.
Each of the three airports will have its own dedicated section, along with maps, food & beverage and duty free shopping information, and details on a range of other facilities from phone-charging stations to children’s rooms.
FLIO allows passengers to check the world‘s weather in real time as well as flight schedules, delays and other schedule changes. Local onward-travel information such as airport taxi charges, the nearest car rental locations, public transport routes, schedules and ticket-related information, is also provided.
Lithuanian Airports CEO Gediminas Almantas said: “Through joining this global app Lithuanian Airports will be able to make every trip even more enjoyable and convenient for our passengers and gives us the perfect platform to service and grow revenue via the domestic and international passenger.
“We believe that in the long run FLIO will become our main passenger information and marketing platform for Vilnius, Kaunas and Palanga airports and will be used by passengers when planning their trip.”
FLIO Business Director Kirk Flitton commented: “We are delighted that Lithuanian Airports has decided to join FLIO and so provide its passengers with the ability to travel in a smarter way and make the best of the commercial offers at their airports.”
He said Lithuanian Airports shared FLIO’s vision and was prepared to be innovative in finding ways to service their customers in a better way.
“They were immediately open to the FLIO app because they recognised, that with FLIO, we have created a digital marketplace for airports, airlines, retailers and brands in order to increase revenues for the airport and its concession partners, and provide a means for airports to communicate to their customers from the beginning to end of their journey.”
Flitton noted that Vilnius Airport handled 3.8 million passengers in 2016, putting it just outside ACI’s 100 top European airports, and that its passenger numbers in Q1 2017 increased +16% over the previous year.
“This is a fast-growing airport and Lithuanian Airports has huge ambitions to accelerate that growth across all its three airports, Vilnius, Kaunas and Palanga. These are the types of airports we love to partner with: airports that are not afraid to look at other alternatives to provide a greater experience for their passengers, as well giving them ways to maximise the commercial revenue that these passengers could bring them,” Flitton concluded.
The three Lithuanian airports join a growing list of collaborations for FLIO. Last month, Nice Côte d’Azur Airport decided to extend its digital reach through FLIO, following partnerships with Bremen Airport and Amsterdam Airport Schiphol.
