CHINA. Swedish beauty tech and wellbeing house Foreo has announced the launch of two new locations in Hainan, in partnership with China Duty Free Group (CDFG). These are located at cdf Haikou International Duty Free Shopping Complex and Sanya International Duty Free Shopping Complex.

Foreo features in new space add the cdf Haikou store, where 30,000sq m of beauty plays a key category role in the 280,000sq m mall. Key lines highlighted include the Luna 4 range and the Glow Up collection that was designed with the Chinese consumer in mind.

Other products available are the Luna mini 3, Luna 3, Bear and UFO 2. To celebrate the launch, Foreo is displaying a large advertisement on a LED flag, a focal point of the cdf Haikou International Duty Free Shopping Complex.
Also in Hainan, Foreo is running its latest pop-up store campaign in the Hainan Tourism Duty Free Shopping Complex with licensee Hainan Tourism Duty Free Investment Co. (HTDF) and partner Lagardère Travel Retail. It occupies 40sq m on the first floor of the mall, close to luxury brands such as Hublot, TAG Heuer, Bvlgari, Chloe and Fred.

The ‘one-stop home spa experiential zone’ allows the customer insight into a full skincare routine using Foreo and FAQ products, spanning cleansing, hydrating and lifting.
The company noted: “By providing the customer with hands-on experience with both brands, they have been able to effectively witness methods of usage and benefits, turning potential customers into recurring purchasers.”
In addition, all customers will receive a Foreo in-store gift if they post photos of the activation on social media. The pop-up is currently running from the Christmas season to 28 February, featuring products such as the FAQ 101, FAQ 102, Luna 4, Luna 4 mini, Luna 4 go, Bear and UFO 2.
During 2022, Foreo extended its Hainan presence to ten stores, four in Sanya and six in Haikou. It will also open with Wangfujing Duty Free through its new flagship store, Wanning Wonder Wave, on 15 January. The brand will also launch in a new location in Gongbei (Guangdong Province) with Zhuhai Duty Free next year.
In the online duty free space, this year Foreo launched with new partners CNSC, Shenzhen Duty Free and HTDF, alongside existing positions with CDFG and Sunrise Duty Free. brings the total of online placements for the brand to 11, with two more scheduled to launch by January.
Sister brand FAQ has opened (or will open) in five stores, covering Sanya Tourism Duty Free Shopping Complex (HTDF), Global Premium Duty Free Plaza (HDH with Dufry and Alibaba), Haikou Mission Hills (Shenzhen Duty Free) and Wanning (Wangfujing Duty Free) alongside a new location with Zhuhai Duty Free, noted above.
