US. Alternative make-up brand Tony&Tina, which was acquired last year by Cosmopolitan Cosmetics, is poised to unveil its first fragrance later this year – and its first full treatment line. Tony&Tina Vibrational Remedy Fragrance and Pure Potentiality Skin Care will both make their debut this Autumn.
The two introductions are designed to widen Tony&;’s consumer – and retail – appeal, while helping it evolve into a full beauty brand. The fragrance in particular is viewed as a valuable tool with which to enter new global markets, especially Asia.
Tony&Tina products are already available in leading domestic department stores around the world, and that distribution network is set to expand significantly with the might of Cosmopolitan Cosmetics behind it. Meanwhile the brand has been eyeing the travel retail channel with interest, and has been widely tipped to follow in the footsteps of other niche names who are expanding in the sector, such as Stila, Hard Candy, BeneFit and Urban Decay.
In line with the “vibrational remedies” premise of its colour cosmetics, Tony&Tina’s first fragrance aims to provide “a total wellness experience” – in addition to making consumers smell nice. It claims to have invented a new category within the fragrance market, called Holism – and that as certified reiki masters, Tony and Tina have personally infused the fragrance with healing reiki energy.
The product line-up features 30ml, 50ml and 75ml edts, a 200ml Universal Body Oil, a 200ml Shimmering Body Lotion and a 200ml Herbal Bath & Shower Gel. Tony&Tina Vibrational Remedy is being positioned as an affordable prestige fragrance; consequently domestic price points range from US$42 to US$68 for the edts and from US$20 to US$30 for the bath/body ancillaries.
The violet-coloured juice is presented in a rounded glass flacon which contains seven healing quartz crystals, topped with a rounded chrome cap.
Pure Potentiality is not just a herbal skincare line but “a vehicle for turning a daily routine into a consciousness-raising ritual”, according to the company. Products include Herbal Toner with Lemongrass Towelettes (US$18); Purifying Herbal Mask with Natural Clay (US$28); and a Microdermabrasion Scrub with Corundum Crystals (US$48).
Tony&Tina has also created a Pure Potentiality Starter Essentials Set, which contains trial-sized versions of its Herbal Foaming Cleanser with Honeysuckle; Herbal Toner with Lemongrass; and Herbal Face Cream with Borage. This will retail domestically at US$36.
