FRAGRANCES & COSMETICS: Unilever Cosmetics International appoints new president and CEO

US. Unilever Cosmetics International (UCI) has appointed Fergus Balfour president and chief executive officer, effectively immediately. He replaces Kevin Boyce, who is to return to his native Canada to be with his family where he has accepted a “senior-level” position with a major but as-yet-undisclosed Canadian company.

Balfour, most recently senior vice president of human resource development in Unilever’s corporate human resources group in London, has been with the group for thirty years. He has previously served as chairman of Unilever in Hungary and general manager of Unilever’s detergent business in Indonesia, in addition to various other marketing and general management responsibility roles.

Boyce, who has been with the group for 19 years, has been in post for just nine months.

Balfour, who will relocate to New York, will report to Unilever Home and Personal Care North America president Harish Manwani.
