Frank Furlan hired as CEO at Dana Classic Fragrances

Furlan says he wants travel retail to be a part of his growth plan for Dana Classic Fragrances.

USA. Well-known former Swatch and Estée Lauder Companies senior executive Frank Furlan has been appointed CEO of Dana Classic Fragrances from this month, based in the Greater New York area.

US beauty house Dana – whose lines include Tabu, Chantilly, Loves Baby Soft, Navy, Toujours Moi, Heaven Scent, British Sterling and English Leather – is owned by Patriarch Partners, a private equity investment and holding company.

Furlan, a well-known and much-respected figure in travel retail from his earlier roles, told The Moodie Davitt Report: “I’m very pleased to join Dana Classic Fragrances and Patriarch Partners. I look forward to adding significant value to this pivot in my career to the private equity sector. It’s highly motivating to work in an environment that knows both what needs to get done and, more importantly, gets it done.”

He added that he wants travel retail to be a part of the growth plan for the company, whose history dates back to 1932.

Patriarch Partners is an investment firm with holdings in over 75 companies across 14 industry sectors. It is led by by Founder and CEO Lynn Tilton. Since 2000, through affiliated investment funds, Tilton has invested in and restructured 243 companies with combined revenues in excess of US$100 billion.

Furlan’s career spans a number of companies in the beauty and watches/jewellery industries including The Swatch Group, The Estée Lauder Companies, Kiko Milano Cosmetics, Revlon, Bijan and Perfumania. He has led and structured operations in global, regional, domestic subsidiary and travel retail markets.
