Gaming World builds on Frankfurt Airport’s array of passenger services |
GERMANY. Airport company Fraport has launched a new Gaming World at Frankfurt Airport. Passengers can play arcade games free of charge, including car racing, soccer, dancing, children’s and fitness games.
Based on Microsoft’s Xbox One console, the Gaming World features both interactive games projected on monitor walls and computer-assisted games on gaming pedestals. Fraport said that there is something for every age group, ranging from classic Tetris (a tile-matching puzzle video game) to dancing games.
Fraport said: “With Gaming World, Frankfurt Airport is taking a new approach to helping passengers spend their waiting enjoyably. Gaming is also a social activity, letting passengers play together or against one another as they please.”
The first Gaming World is located in Terminal 1 on Level 3 of Pier A-Plus opposite Gates Z54 and Z56, and more are planned.
The initiative is another element in the “Great to have you here!” service quality programme launched by Fraport to improve the customer experience at Germany’s largest hub. Other initiatives include the Frankfurt Airport App 3.0 and free 24-hour Wi-Fi.
