
GERMANY. Frankfurt Airport served 5.1 million passengers in May, an increase of +12.2% year-on-year. The figure was still -17.5% behind May 2019, airport owner Fraport reported.
Fraport’s global network of airports recorded further growth in the month. Ljubljana Airport in Slovenia counted 110,926 passengers in May (up +30.4% year-on-year). Traffic at Fraport’s Brazilian airports of Fortaleza and Porto Alegre grew to over one million passengers (up +8.1%), while Lima Airport in Peru served about 1.7 million passengers, a rise of +14.8 %.

Passenger volume at the 14 Greek regional airports climbed to 3.3 million (up +16.7%). In Bulgaria, Burgas and Varna experienced healthy +30.3% growth to 224,003. Antalya Airport in Turkey recorded 3.4 million passengers, a leap of +27.7%.
The total number of passengers at the airports actively managed by Fraport grew by +16.7% year-on-year to 14.8 million in May.
