LVMH-owned beauty and fragrance house Guerlain has launched Terracotta Light, a new bronzer expression with 96% naturally-derived ingredients. It is now available in global travel retail.
Terracotta Light gives a natural sun-kissed glow with an even, second-skin finish. The new bronzer reflects the French beauty house’s commitment to using a minimum of 90% natural-origin ingredients across its makeup portfolio. The remaining 4% synthetic ingredients have been carefully selected to preserve the integrity and sensoriality of the formula, said the company.
It has been infused with hydrating Euphorbia honey, which is produced in Southern Morocco by Saharan bees and harvested by a fair-trade women’s cooperative. The same Tanganine cooperative network produces the Argan Oil used in the original Terracotta formula.

Four shades are captured in Terracotta Light, the organic pattern blends a satin bronzing shade, a tone-on-tone matte shade, a peachy blush shade and a universal luminiser that creates a translucent, glowing finish. Terracotta Light is available in three intensities: Light, Medium and Dark and in two tones, Cool and Warm.
Terracotta Light is made in Guerlain’s makeup and skincare La Ruche production site Chartres, France. The scented powder blends ylang-ylang and orange blossom notes with vanilla and tonka bean.
The bronzer is complemented with a new Kabuki brush made with high-quality synthetic bristles and a responsibly-sourced wooden handle.
Terracotta Light is the latest addition to Guerlain’s Terracotta bronzer range which comprises the Original, Matte and Nude expressions.
Guerlain Makeup Creative Director Violette Serra commented, “With a subtle soft and blushed glow, Terracotta light is the ideal alternative or complement to the Terracotta Original powder. Natural with a makeup finish as impressive as ever, this new formula has it all.
“I love the very organic impression of the original pattern, which allows a perfect blend between all the more or less intense or iridescent shades.”
The Terracotta Light campaign was shot by acclaimed fashion photographer Sølve Sundsbø and stars Portuguese Model Sara Sampaio. It is set amidst a sunny desert landscape, which served as Guerlain’s original inspiration for the Terracotta bronzer in 1984.
