Furla focuses on lifestyle trends for Pre-Fall A/W 2015 collection

Furla has unveiled its Pre-Fall Autumn Winter 2015/16 collection, which includes lines that will be carried forward to the main AW2015/16 offer to be shown at the IAADFS Duty Free Show of the Americas in March (stand number: 2223).

Available in travel retail from May, the Pre-Fall AW 2015/16 collection is said to be inspired by an urban dreamscape with street-style influence. With this launch, Furla continues to switch from a product-focus to a lifestyle-focus, creating products which are tailored to consumers’ needs and wants, the brand said.

For 2015, the collection introduces a utilitarian look with functional pockets and embellishments reflecting a military, work and sport uniform theme. Soft shapes reflect femininity while Furla’s colourful and energetic in-house Graffiti designs emphasise the link between the brand, contemporary art and design.

The colour palette mixes pink with tones of military green and denim blues (Indaco and Salvia); neon fluorescent tones are combined with graffiti style, as rust colour “balances the mood of the urban dreamscape”.

The collection also sees the introduction of Termonastratura, a new technical process using heat bonding that enables materials and colours to be combined without stitching. Furla explained that this technique – more often found in ready-to-wear – allows the brand to introduce new fashion patterns and designs which will place it “on a level of its own”. Its new Stella Furla bag tote and Metropolis Furla bag cross-body demonstrate how this technique can create a completely different and authentic look, the brand added.

Furla has also made improvements to quality and construction across the collection. The tote style has been enhanced, and all shoulder straps are now adjustable with five holes. Other elevated hardware details include zipper pulls with metallic end-caps, handle attachments and new colourways for some styles.

New improved leathers include Folk, a smooth leather with shiny affect used to accent the new Dolce Vita Furla Bag icon line; Monet, a new offer in the opening price range similar to Cervo in texture; Mistral, an elevated smooth and soft leather with a soft sheen; and Suede.

The small leather-goods range highlights Mini-Bags with improved internal and external construction quality and functionality. Available in a range of colours, new styles include a XL Bifold with external zip pocket, a Mini Bag with internal pouches, and a Mini Bag with detachable strap.

Furla Global Travel Retail Director Gerry Munday said: “Furla never stands still and this Pre-Fall collection shows once again the innovative and dynamic nature of the brand – always moving forward yet without compromising on its Italian heritage and roots. In a travel retail industry where consumers are continually looking for newness and originality, brands such as Furla have perfect synergy. We are looking forward to yet another very active year in travel retail and this collection will, I am confident, be very well received.”
