Furla goes on a journey through time in Fall/Winter 2018-19 men’s collection

Furla is set to return to the Summit of the Americas show next month with an increased focus on its men’s collection (booth 923).

The Furla Fall/Winter 2018-19 Men Collection is inspired by a journey through time. Accessories channel the curvilinear shapes of military motorcycles from the 1940s, the lightness of 1950s mopeds, the freewheelin’ 1960s and the geometric lines of the 1970s/1980s.

Rebels at heart: The phrase ‘Stay reckless’ is inscribed on bags in the Mercurio line

Furla’s Mercurio line is inspired by the motorcycles designed in the 1940s. The motorcycle’s bodywork morphs into bags and the hardware’s light satin finish echoes a bike’s engine. Bags come in animal and industrial style prints.

The Furla Icaro line is inspired by “the sheer power and strength of the great distance’s motorcycles”. Bags such as the messenger feature an ‘aggressive’ design.

The Icaro range is described as a line for men “who love rock music”

The Furla Giove references the Dolce Vita. It features light blue tones and yellow ochre which represent the slightly dusty facades of Rome’s palazzi.

Furla’s all-metallic Marte Line evokes customised motorcycles. Bags include clean, straight lines for a “functional, business-like style”.

The Furla Atlante line, which references the world of racing, features 3D effects and geometries with different levels of prints and colour.

A backpack from the Ulisse line

Furla’s Ulisse line, comprising backpacks and fanny bags, plays with the personalisation of Furla’s iconic teddy bear from the Uomo collection.

Furla Global Travel Retail Director Gerry Munday said: “The Furla Men’s collection has really taken off this past year and we are absolutely delighted to be showcasing it in Orlando. The Summit of the Americas trade show is a great opportunity for us to further our business in the Americas, and we very much look forward to attending.”

Furla will also present its Fall Winter 2018-19 women’s collection in Orlando. Key themes include freedom, independence and poetry.

A key detail of the Furla Bomber is the voluminous flap

The new bags feature technical details created in collaboration with clothing companies. The bags are divided into three different styles:

Furla Polar – zippered top handles

Furla Bomber – the underarm, with a voluminous flap whose “street” technical effect evokes subtle references to the Furla prints of the latest three seasons.

Furla Artic

Furla Artic – an XL size bag with a round design and a leather handle.

WonderFurla is the new lightweight sneaker which features the structure of the rainbow sole composed by five colours.

Munday commented: “We are very excited to be showing the new collection in Orlando, I’m always astounded at the sheer innovation and creativity that is implemented with each new season. Business in the Americas is growing, and the Summit of the Americas show is an ideal platform for us to gain new listings and create new opportunities in the region.”
