Gatorz snap at the heels of inflight buyers – 11/02/08

NORTH AMERICA. Gatorz has signed a new listings agreement with both Air Canada and Continental Airlines to start selling the Wraptor sunglasses model on their upcoming Spring/Summer 2008 inflight programmes.

The Wraptor style has already been successful with Delta and American Airlines, according to the eyewear supplier.

“We are extremely excited about our new partnerships with Continental and Air Canada,” said Gatorz Inc CEO Kerry Lynch. “This partnership further validates our sunglasses as well as our place in the travel retail industry.”

Encore International, Gatorz Eyewear’s Ontario-based distributor, has achieved listings with border shops, airport shops and airlines following the brand’s entry into the travel retail market a year ago.

“Caroline Baile, President of Encore International, has done a tremendous job of getting Gatorz sunglasses listed with major airlines as well as duty free shops over the last 12 months,” said Lynch.

Technology and styling are said to be what set Gatorz apart from the competition. Gatorz frames are carved from 7075 billet aircraft aluminum. They are then moulded around 1.8mm polycarbonate lenses that offer 100% UV protection while remaining distortion-free.
